Ans. Bholi’s real name was Sulekha. When she was ten months old, she fell down from the cot and injured her head. Due to injury, she became a retarded girl. At the age of two, she got smallpox due to which she became ugly. She stuttered while speaking. No one liked her in the family. But when she started going to school, she changed. When she became an adult, she was to be married to a rich grocer named Bishamber but she refused to marry him because he was greedy. She decided to serve her parents in their old age. Her character represents resilience, empowerment and the potential for personal growth despite societal prejudices.
